Hi-fi speakers for sale...
Dec. 11th, 2006 02:08 pmAlso from the sorting stuff out in MK, I have two pairs of floorstanding hi-fi speakers which I need to sell.
Pair the first: Black B&W 3-way(ish) floorstanders - I think they're the 600 series but not sure. Each speaker has one tweeter, one active woofer, and one passive woofer. They're HUGE, and have accordingly good bass response, and good driving sound in general. Sadly one of the tweeters has been damaged by my sister while they were at her place, so I'm looking for £100 minus whatever a replacement tweeter will cost (or, if someone definitely wants them for £100, I will replace the tweeter for you first if you prefer). These are very impressive speakers, particularly if you listen to a lot of dance music or rock/metal.
They look a bit like these - http://www.eastwoodhifi.com.au/b&w603.htm - but they're not the kevlar cone model - they're from the year before those were released.
Pair the second: Maple (?) finish Acoustic Energy 2-way floorstanders - I think these are 100 series, but again not sure (yes, I know, I should have written something down when I was moving the bloody things - hindsight is 20/20). One tweeter and one woofer per speaker. Very very clean and neutral sound - I imagine these would be well suited to someone who listens to either complicated music (classical, jazz, etc) or a wide range of music and wants a neutral sound across it all. Again, I'm looking for £100 for them. These are really nice speakers - especially if you don't just listen to lots of dance and metal (which is why I'm not keeping them) :)
They look a bit like these: http://www.superfi.co.uk/images/Aegis2smuse.jpg
Both pairs are good speakers, hence they are HEAVY, and the B&Ws particularly are large. Neither pair will fit in my car, so either you'll have to pick them up from Milton Keynes, or live close enough that I can talk my friend into delivering them for me.
