Quote, Unquote...
Jul. 8th, 2005 12:36 pmA collection of quotes about yesterday, gathered from various sources. A few of my favourites:
"We took on the Romans, the Saxons, the Danes, the French, William Wallace, the Black Plague, the Roundheads, the Great Fire, Napoleon, the Nazis, and the Blitz, and we're still here. You terrorists are bloody amateurs."
"They did their worst, and they managed to disrupt our transport network and get fatalities in the low double figures. That happens on a fairly regular basis anyway, you twits. What's your next trick - a fiendish weather control device which makes it rain on a bank holiday weekend?"

NEWSFLASH:
There has been a widespread outbreak of grumbling and tutting today in London, along with a large number of people going home instead of to work, with a certain amount of guilty pleasure.

This and that...
Jul. 8th, 2005 06:36 pmHalf a mobile phone conversation, overheard on the bus on the way home today: "I had to get off the tube. No, there was this man sitting opposite me. No, nothing like that. No, he was popping bubble-wrap. Just sitting there popping it. I had to get off - I had to."
As the bus came into Colliers Wood I noticed a policewoman just standing on the pavement, quite obviously 'being visible'. I was a bit surprised, it's hardly a high-profile area. She looked quite tense as well. It was only as we pulled alongside her that the sign on the fairly dull building she was stood in front of became visible - the place is a mosque. I really hope she has a quiet shift.
Probably going to B-Movie for a while tonight, if I can be bothered to move my lazy arse out of this chair that is. No idea what a bloke is supposed to wear to a Tank Girl themed night (no, I don't have a kangaroo costume handy), so I guess I'll just slob it if I do go.
And now, a word from our sponsors: Eat Pussy
Edit: 'If you don't have sex with me then you're letting the terrorists win.'
