Jan. 18th, 2008 12:18 pmI went to Ikea last week and spent itro £400 on wardrobe/shelving units for my bedroom at the new place. Finally got a chance to start trying to assemble them last night, and discovered that the largest one is the wrong sodding colour - must have been put on the wrong shelf in their warehouse (it doesn't have anything useful like what colour it is written on the outside of the packaging of course, that wouldn't be efficient - instead it has a long code that looks something like an IP address. Very helpful).
This means I have to take a very heavy piece of flatpack furniture back to Edmonton. It's nearly 240cm long, so it's not fitting into any normal transport, let alone my car.
I don't suppose anyone is likely to be in London with a van going spare for an hour or two any time soon? Otherwise it's going to cost me about £50 to hire a van just to take this sodding thing back :(
Ikea. It's never quite as simple as it pretends to be, is it?
