I think it's a result of the boom in population, communication, ease of travel and the pressures of modern life which humanity as a whole isn't ready for.
I think they're sadly deluded, as the experience of one ex-chaser in the article would suggest.
Not only that, but as they are basically giving someone a death sentence it probably is or should be illegal in countries where euthanasia is illegal. Also it means a further strain on thinly spread health resources so I think they are being very selfish from that respect.
Normally I wouldn't have a problem with people doing as they wished as long as they were consentual and fully able to take the responsibility of that consent. However from the little evidence I've seen I don't believe they fulfil that second criteria.
What makes it worse is that they are then irresponsible about telling others they now have the disease and seem willing to involve others who might be unaware of their disease.
It also does not help the popular myth that HIV and AIDS is mainly related to gays and bisexuals.
:o Now there's brave and there's foolhardy and he's neither, just thick. I hope they make him pay for the drugs he goes on when he's got it, cos boy are they difficult to synthesise.
Hmm, that would explain the Daily Star sidebar headed "Gays 'want AIDS'" that I saw the other day (someone beside me on the bus was reading it, and it happened to catch my eye, though I didn't see the rest of the article).
