Where should I consider shopping for cowboy boots in London? Past browsing seems to suggest that (regardless of price), the boots in Camden fall into the 'cheap and nasty' category where their quality is concerned (unless someone can suggest particular stores/stalls to look at?). So, where else might be good to look?

I want something roughly like this: http://tinyurl.com/yl95ln

(although if I could find them equivalently cheap in this country, I'd pick up a pair of these too... I want black, for general usefulness, but the colour of these is gorgeous for more occasional use: http://tinyurl.com/y7vm9a )

I'd probably wear the boots most days if I got them, so I want something reasonably comfortable and durable. I realise this will mean spending more money. If I can't get what I want within my budget then I'll not bother, rather than buying cheap shit that will dismantle either my feet or itself within a few months. I guess my budget is between 100 and 200 quid, unless I find some nice ones surprisingly cheap, or some really really nice ones that are painfully expensive.

Inform me :)

Mine cost around £150: on the other hand, mine took me nearly five years to find. I suspect it'll be a lot easier for you, as you don't have the specific oddity of foot-shape that I do (as a result of not wearing shoes for the first 12 years of my life).

I found mine in Camden; while on average 99% of the boots in any given shop are not really very nice, I tended to find at least one pair per trip around the shops which was decent, it's just that most of said boots didn't fit me.

Try one of the funkier mainstream shoe-shops, like Shelleys or Schuh.

There used to be a boot shop in the covered market in Oxford that, amongst other things, sold good cowboy boots along with spurs to put on them. Unfortunately I'm not sure if it is still there and can't remember what it was called :-/

Aha at last one I know the answer to. as you say price = quality as you are going to wear them every day or possibly...Mate of mine, not a money bags but lives in his cowboy boots ( not the same pair all the time ) swears by a shop on the Kings Road, can't help with the name of the shop, but I know its about midway down the trendy part and is a shop on a corner plot, very local to the "cafe nero " might even be opposite it or on the corner of the turning before.
I will be speaking to him over the weekend so if you can wait till then I can get the name of the place....

Just read your post in full, I'm sure my mate pays about £250.00 for his, yeah they do mental money ones as well, but I figured £ 250.00 for quality, good fit and durability from Kings Road was pretty good and certainly close to your budget....
