Well it's all systems go at Operation: Move Denny. I just paid the deposit and signed the contract for the new place (12 months minimum and 2 months notice after that, ugh... hope it doesn't turn out to be a crappy area or anything else problematic). I pick the key up on Monday. Which reminds me, I need to hire a transit van or something. *wanders off*
Right, one Fiat Scudo (one of those baby-transit things) bagged for Monday and Tuesday, for 50 of your earth pounds. I hope they take credit cards.
My dad has unexpectedly decided that he can help me on Tuesday after all, so the current plan is probably: come back from The Party To End All Parties on Sunday night, then on Monday morning throw anything that will fit in the van into the van without worrying too much about organisation (as I have none). Once I've moved a van-load or two of things that are already boxed (from when I moved in 2 years ago) then hopefully there will be a bit more mental space as well as physical space for sorting the rest of the place out on Monday evening. On Tuesday dad appears and helps with the rest of whatever needs sorting out - most particularly, moving boxes full of books, which is heavy-lifting that I don't much fancy with my leg as it is. Then I can try to find a professional cleaning service to sort the place out on Thursday or Friday, and all will be well with the world. And I'll be a north Londoner. Innit.
