When's that then?

I mentioned last night that I have two lots of antibiotics to take, one 3 times a day, one 4 times a day. The latter also have instructions about how they should fit in with my eating... specifically, they're to be taken on an empty stomach, and I'm not to eat for an hour after taking them.

Hrm.

I can manage that in the morning obviously - I'm assuming my stomach counts as empty after a night's sleep, and I don't like to eat until I've been awake for a couple of hours. After that though, it gets kinda tricky. Four times in a day means I need to take them every 4 hours or so. Not eating for an hour after taking them means I've then got three hours until I'm due to take the next lot. Is three hours enough to count as an empty stomach?

The chances of me remembering to do anything to that accurate a schedule are minimal anyway... I guess I'd better start setting an alarm for each time I'm due to take them.

Oh, progress report: the red area hasn't got much smaller, but the soreness has decreased greatly, and the swelling has gone down a lot too. So I reckon I'm staying out of hospital this time, yay. Today I think I'll avoid packing by going out to the park to play with my new staff :)

Would these by some form of tetracyclines, by any chance? The instructions sound like the anti-acne antibiotics that I had a school. I used to take one immediately on waking up, one at morning break (the next lesson was just over an hour long), one when I got home and one before bed, and it seemed to work.
The redness might not have decreased much, but I'm betting that any amount of decrease beats an increase! :P

Have had the ones that you have to take on an empty stomach a few times, my way of doing it is always: keep them by the bed & set my alarm an hour early so I take one then go straight back to sleep for an hour, then get up & have breakfast. Take one an hour before lunch, one an hour before tea & one just before bed. If you're anything like me the time between taking them & eating will be extremely uncomfortable (I get really upset stomach from taking them & food helps it calm down).
