Yes, I suspect people will automatically start taking out the battery in their sleep. So it's only any good if the battery cover is screwed on...

I suggested this to my girlfriend (who tends to snooze her alarm ten to twelve times and sleep in-between before getting up), and her response was "I wouldn't need to put those pieces back... A sledgehammer would also stop it".
