LJ oddness

LJ seems to be logging me out a lot lately - whenever I change computers, for instance. I've also heard that people with underscores in their usernames have been having very serious problems staying logged in, and I've had several anon comments in my journal this week that sound like they shouldn't have been anon. It's probably worth keeping an eye on your 'logged in' status to make sure you don't miss any friends-only posts etc. I'm guessing these problems are all knock-on effects from the recent DNS changes to make shorter URLs throughout the site.

It's all for security reasons. It's to work around a crazy misfeature in Mozilla; there's not much else the LJ people could have done, apart from forcing everyone to us the default LJ layout, which would have been less popular still.

Ah, I see. Or rather, I don't - is there an explanation in one of the LJ communities somewhere?

The whole thing has rendered the proxy I use to browse at work pretty much useless. I can't stay logged in at all. Whenever I log in, the very next action (even simply refreshing the welcome page) logs me back out again. :/

It does it too me quite a lot, the reason I notice it is I use a filtered reading group so it tells me I can't see the group.

Does it on Firefox Win and OS X.
