I took a copy of the image and put it on my own server, I don't know what the options it gives you are.
The signature code is almost certainly vB (etc) code - [img]http://blahblah.com/image.jpg[/img] - like that? Ignore it :) You need to put the image somewhere (like in your livejournal scrapbook thingy) and then link it with HTML (<img src="http://livejournal.com/blahblah/image.jpeg" alt="mini me!" />)
I discovered if I just pasted the signature code without the [img] bit on each end into the Deepest Sender lj client it worked fine so I assume if you used the HTML for posting an image and use there signature code in that it would work too.
