Date: 2005-05-27 12:21 am (UTC)I was sold the car with an empty petrol tank and a big apology, said apology backed up with a twenty pound note. Apparently the local garage he'd gone to intending to put some fuel in it was closed for some reason.
So off I set to the other local garage by his directions. Closed.
So I head for the Tesco garage that's on the route home. Closed.
The next two garages I pass still heading rather hopefully in the direction of home, also closed.
Thankfully the one after that was open, albeit with no super-unleaded, so the beastie is currently running on unleaded (which is what he was running it on anyway, but I think super would be a better idea personally).
Anyway, the tank is 70 litres as far as I know... I fitted 70.01 in there, so I must have pulled into the forecourt running on vapour.
