The message wasn't intended just for people on my friends list, so filtering it would be a bit tricky. Livejournal doesn't have an option to hide a post from a logged in user whilst still letting any other reader, friend or not, see it...
It wouldn't really be a very useful feature, as the person who you were blocking could read the post by simply logging out - hence the reason filters are implemented as opt-in lists rather than blocking lists.
