Well, that'll teach me to be slightly more cautious when navigating the house... just went flying in the frontroom. No major damage, although my leg is certainly not best part pleased about the whole thing.
It seems I left my bloody bath tap not-quite-turned-off again at some point this weekend, and the water has trickled down it, run through the dodgy seal on the bath, down the pipes, onto the floor, through to the ceiling below, then down the wall in the hallway, and saturated the hallway carpet. The thing is, I'd got into the habit of not actually setting foot on that square of carpet on the way down, because I can stand on the bottom step of the stairs, put my crutches in the hallway, and land my good foot in the frontroom (the downstairs hallway being about 3 feet square). I tended to do this because I dislike treading in all the muck that comes into the hall on people's shoes, as I'm generally barefoot. Anyway, this time I landed safely in the frontroom as per usual, then went to put the crutches out for the next hop and they both slid out on the wooden flooring, because they were wet from the carpet in the hall. Result, Denny, floorbound at a fair pace and a dodgy angle.
I managed to twist and land on my left side, so nothing overly fragile impacted the floor, but even so, ouch.
