Okay, I didn't realise it was that obvious that I'm a geek just to look at me...

The guy from two doors up, who I've never spoken to before (and barely recognised) just knocked on my door and asked me if I could spare him a bit of time to have a look at a PC his daughter just blagged from her office. From his description it sounds like the company b0rked Windows while removing their confidential data and any programs they didn't want to share when they gave the box away, so I'll probably just reinstall it... not a problem and happy to be of assistance.

But... how did he know to ask me?

Phone problems

My mobile phone belongs to the company I work for, and is being transferred from Orange to O2, supposedly on Wednesday next week, but apparently they messed up and tried to transfer it yesterday. The main result of this seems to be that I'm not receiving text messages at present, although I'm a little unsure about the reliability of the service in general. If you're trying to get in touch and not getting through, email me and let me know and I'll ring you back - it seems to dial out okay.

Technology eh?  :)
