I just got an email telling me that a guy I knew online, an op in an IRC channel I also op in, died in a motorcycle accident earlier this week. I didn't know him that well to be honest, but we did have quite a good chat about biking in general just after my accident. It's hit me much harder than it normally would given the relatively loose association... I guess it's that "There but for the grace of $deity..." feeling.

He found out the hard way you shouldn't upgrade from a 50cc to a cbr250 and listen to your stero whilst driving.

Date: 2003-08-29 06:40 pm (UTC)That very day he had a bad crash on his motorcycle comming to visit me to patch things up, ironically he was one of my " old mob " from London, and I was the only one close enough to get to Luton Hospital, to be with him when he died...:(
He is burried close to the village where I live, and none of the old crew come visit him ( it's been 10 years ) but I tend his grave and talk to him often...
I will always miss him, I will always love him.
