They probably find a lot of these while they're parked, and they've no real way of finding out whether they were being driven around or not. It's all a bit harsh in this case, but I can't see how they'd take any other view.

Sounds like a reasonable, if not great, result - you and I both know that this was a minor error (a term I hate to use in conjunction with road law as it's usually used as an excuse for killing someone), but the law's never going to be able to adjust that much.

As you say, it was a minor error, but with potentially very nasty consequences if I had got involved in an accident during that period - so I can't find it in myself to deeply resent the outcome. Just sulk a bit  :)

I just typed a long and clever reply then I dropped my KB and somehow deleted the fucking lot.

I can't even remember what it was all about. There was some attempted looking on the bright side (which I'm a natural failure at) and a lil Life Goes on (which is unfortunate in many cases)

Oh yea there was something Very clever about having a ride over the weekend to make it all seem better. It was a Ride the bike thing with Cheeky undertones of ride whoever's closest. It was good but you'll never know.
