Stuff and non(-linear )sense.

dennyWell, I'm home now, astoundingly still not only alive but also dry, after riding home from Cambridge in the pissing rain. This waterproof suit is bloody good :)
In other news, the RockSoc gig was okay:
* First band, Flick, were great instrumentally but the vocalist needed a slap when he got into full-on Vanilla Ice mode which was just getting a bit silly in places. Nice riffs though, and my favourite act of the night.
* Second band, GenericPunkRockTrio#4 (I'm not good with names, but don't worry, you don't want to look them up anyway) were, generic. Vaguely cute, musically competent, sorry, that's it.
* Third band, not my thing but were very good at what they did. Also, full respect for coming on stage and PLAYING SOME MUSIC instead of talking shite and tuning the bass guitar again, which seemed to be the other bands' approach to taking the stage.
* Fourth band, headlining, Porn Orphans (pronounced Porno Fans, apparently :) ). These were cuter than the second band, and had a better sound and a bit more originality. The female vocalist had definitely been studying Wendy James (unless she's naturally like that, in which case even better), and sounded a bit like the girl from No Doubt, something to do with Finnish origins maybe?
Met some people at the gig who might not remember me... hi, anyway. Kudos to the guy who entered the toilet calmly announcing "Excuse me please, I _am_ going to be sick", waited until people cleared a space to some porcelain, and then was. Lots. Hope you're feeling better now...
Met some people after the gig, most of whom I think are on lj but I won't be able to remember their names let alone nom de [keyboard]. I'm really not good at names :) It was a nice evening though (we got to a party as it had entered the 'silly quotes and deliberately misconstruing other people's statements for entertainment value' stage... well I enjoyed it!)
