A damn good quote, and particularly apposite in the climate of idiotic ID-card laws they keep trying to push. A propos of which, have you seen this apparent pilot scheme (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/09/11/porth_county_kiddyprinting/) for mandatory fingerprinting of all children at the point they enter secondary education? I particularly like the bit about not requiring parental consent for this, provided the DfES have approved the initiative.
