Peace...

There was a survey meme lately in which one of the questions was 'when was the last time you were so happy that nothing else mattered for a moment?', or something along those lines... my answer when I was replying to it was generally 'a long time ago', or 'months ago' or just 'I can't remember'. I can now update that to 'last night'.

So where did I find my moment of peace and contentment? On the dancefloor at a rock club, headbanging to Rammstein. Very peaceful, I'm sure. :)

I'd forgotten how good it can feel to be part of a crowd on a dancefloor... just moving to music, feeling the rhythm and the atmosphere that comes with it... having a Good Time™. It's probably the most important thing the bike accident took away from me, and even though I'm painfully aware of that already, I think I still underestimate it and don't do enough to claw it back.

The rest of the weekend was good too - my gracious host was very nice to me - but that was my moment. It bordered on being blissful, and the smile that had been creeping onto my face through the last few tracks suddenly broke out in full strength as I realised why it was there, teasing the corners of my mouth... and it stayed for hours.

Cool, glad to hear it.

I'm more chilled now after having been away 5 weeks around Europe (starting to look at the cute women around now), and especially happier now I'm working for myself - motivation/concentration is a slight issue which I need to work on though. :-)

Know exactly where you're coming from there. Nothing but you and the music. Hard for me to get that back these days but when I do, it's heaven :)
