May. 19th, 2003 07:04 pm1. When did you first connect ("go online"), and how?
1995, through work.
2. What was your first communications program?
Telnet.
3. When did you first chat over the Internet, and how?
1995, on CrazyLands
4. What chat type program(s) do you use now?
X-Chat (IRC) mostly, but I also have Gaim which can handle most IM services. I've been signed up to ICQ since it was in alpha testing, and have a fairly low ID number - 889032. I also now have Yahoo and MSN IDs, but their services are flaky so I prefer ICQ. And IRC works better than any of the IM things.
5. Who was your first service provider?
Unisys, the company I was working for. They had their own transatlantic cable, so the connection was quite nice.
6. Did you ever use AOL?
No.
7. Do you admit using AOL in public?
n/a
8. Who is your current ISP?
Pipex (ADSL). Not bad.
9. First computer that you used to access the 'net?
*shrug* Unisys PC, Windows 95.
10. What computer do you use to access the 'net today?
At home, a Xinit systems built workstation, running Linux. At work, a Sony Vaio, also running Linux.
11. What was your first 'net handle?
Dionysus.
12. Did you use any other handles for any length of time? If so, what were they?
Damaged, for a long time.
13. What 'net handle do you normally use now?
Denny.
14. Are you active on any web sites other than LJ? If you're willing to say, what ones?
I run UK Fetish Info, which fills any spare time I get.
