(Before everyone drops me off their friends list for only posting KoC updates *grin*)

Having a good weekend. Just woke up after sleeping myself out, which is always nice... don't seem to get many lay-ins these days, not what I'd call a lay-in anyway (i.e. getting up in the afternoon). It looks like a really nice day out, so I might go and injure myself with the poi in a bit  :)

Went to Full Tilt at the Electric Ballroom on Friday with [livejournal.com profile] duranorak and [livejournal.com profile] robinbloke. I bounced lots and juggled a fair bit, which was fun. Then spent Saturday morning snuggled up with [livejournal.com profile] duranorak before heading off to Cyberdog in the afternoon for more bouncing and showing off. Said 'Hi' to [livejournal.com profile] silveraj who works there. I must acquire a vast amount of money from somewhere so that I can buy half the contents of that place...

Met up with [livejournal.com profile] firewoman after a couple of hours in Cyberdog, and we did the 'wander around Camden wishing you had several small fortunes to blow' thing, admiring much that was shiny, stroky, or otherwise entertaining. The phrase "don't buy any more X before Whitby" was heard to issue forth from her quite often, so I'm now imagining Whitby as not only the biggest goth club in the world, but also a larger version of the good bits of Camden market. I guess I'll know for real in a couple of weeks.

Abandoned [livejournal.com profile] firewoman to her fate (or more accurately, to [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth and various others) in the Dev, where a crowd were preparing an expedition to the [livejournal.com profile] deathboy gig. I drove back to Milton Keynes and made for an early night, hence the gloriously well slept feeling I am now enjoying.

Later today [livejournal.com profile] tacohell will be coming back through MK on her return trip from Liverpool to Luton (two end-points that must almost make MK seem pleasant, if dull), and she's going to hang around here for a chat. Saw her briefly on Thursday but we mostly just ate and then it was time for her to go, so hopefully we'll be a bit less rushed today...

Hrm. A friend has just rung me while I was typing this entry, and now I have to figure out how to boot a Windows ME system into DOS mode so he can run ScanReg. I'm finding Windows technical support harder and harder to offer to mates, as I haven't touched the nasty pile of ick myself for the last few years, other than to borrow friends' machines when I'm at their houses anyway.

You didn't want to go to the [livejournal.com profile] deathboy gig? I'd have loved to go...

I was tempted, as much for the company as the music, but I had a feeling I was really going to appreciate catching up on my sleep. I think how good I feel today says I probably made the right decision, even if it was the boring sensible thing to do  :)

Ah well fair enough. Glad to hear you're looking after yourself :)

Next time I will try to make a gig, and you should try to come along as well :)

Bah, I thought that was [livejournal.com profile] firewoman you were at the Dev with! [livejournal.com profile] arkady was there too, just a few metres away. (And [livejournal.com profile] redcountess.)

Oh yes, I meant to say that it was really sweet to see you looking so pleased to be sat there beside her  :)

Well, on my part I kind of assume that everyone on the goth scene knows more people than me, so it didn't occur to me to point out anyone to you  :)  Next time I'll try to remember to do so...

F8 key during bootup, or if you can get into windows - Start - Run - MSCONFIG - advanced - enable startup menu.

I think you'll find F8 works for Win95 and Win98 but not WinME. I did tell him to try that, but I was pretty sure I'd heard it wasn't going to work and apparently it didn't.

Actually, it does, but timing is very damn tricky with it - alternatively, depending on how far through the boot sequence you can get - you can reset the whole computer, and it'll bring up the startup menu thinking you had crashed. *shrugs* If I were him, I'd just say to hell with it all, reformat and install 98SE - tends to be a hole pisspot more reliable.

"more accurately" is redundant in that sentence, by the way. ~grin~

Miss you, love.
