Vocabulary Test

This is hard going - 200 pairs of words, that you have to identify as being 'same' or 'opposite'. For example:

1  whit  iota   [ ]same [ ]opposite

http://www.eskimo.com/~miyaguch/schmies.html

I got 166 out of 200, which is a lot less than I expected to get until I saw some of the words in there... for instance:

119  irrefragable  confutable   [ ]same [ ]opposite

Update: I've just noticed that this page is part of a website titled "the Uncommonly Difficult I.Q. Tests page". I feel a bit better now  :)

(spotted in [livejournal.com profile] mhw's journal... who scored 199!)

162. And, once I'd started, just COULDN'T say "Nope, can't be bothered with this..."

I wish I had.

I got 177/200. Which frankly appals me - I should have got more than that.
Mind you, I was doing it half-arsedly while eating a hot cross bun and drinking tea.

At least I know about litotes and meiosis, though homothermic and poikilothermic stumped me a bit, even though I recognise both of the words from New Scientist.
