A useful link, for a change...

Combination of journeyplanner.org, traintimes.org.uk, maps.google's directions feature, and a load of other UK travel stuff.

[livejournal.com profile] fire_brand, I remember us talking about your inability to find your way outside of London because it wasn't on Journey Planner - now you are saved! ;)

It's the same site as on the direct.gov.uk website, except, not hidden at some obscure url.

Hmmm - it looks very useful, but it doesn't seem to work in Firefox - at least the journey planner I tried...

Ok, I take it back. If you use the journey planner on the front page it is fine...

I think that's going on my frequent bookmark list. It'll be interesting to see how the route compares to my usual directions from www.theaa.com (http://www.theaa.com) (not to be confused with www.aa.com (http://www.aa.com) - you might go a bit further than you planned...)

There are local journey planners for non-Londoners; for the North, use http://217.23.229.206/jpclient.exe?newQuery=newQuery
