I visited the NHS and all I got was this lousy bandage
The fuckers wouldn't let me keep (or even see) the bits of metal, I'm really really annoyed about that - where's my sense of closure, you bastards?!
But anyway - I'm okay. Leg hurts a bit, somewhat unsurprisingly, but on the whole I'm alright.
The projected recovery times are quite a bit better than I thought they'd be - mostly it sounds like I should be able to walk unaided within a week, if all goes well.

But that was only a hand with one broken bone, you have a leg with ..ehm..was there any bones you didnt breake in it?
Anyway, glad the surgery went well.
Now do try to resist any urge to test out the leg, give it some rest, and get well soon. :)

(Assuming that you wouldn't have swapped the bits for the recovery time - if you would, boo, &c.)

odd thing is, that when I had my accident, I was stitched up and thrown out- as I could put a little weight on it, they didn't even offer me crutches or owt.
glad you feel better than you thought you would, less worried now x
