Mmm, shiny.

Just saw Mirrormask with [livejournal.com profile] duranorak. It was very nice... definitely showed signs of being written by someone who thinks in graphic novel format, but was none the worse for it. I would recommend that people go to see it, but as there was only one place showing it in London this week, you might be out of luck if you haven't done so already. I think I'll buy the DVD when it comes out... I should get Neverwhere too at some point, I've read it many times but still not seen it.

*yawns* And now for bed.....

I'm never really sure about Neverwhere.. My boyfriend watched it when it was originally on TV and now owns the DVD's and he's attempted to make me watch it several times but it's never caught my attention very well (me falling asleep all the time really is starting to get annoying..). It's got that Scottish girl in it who's in quite a lot of things/films but always in pretty minor roles. I'm told I'd love the book though, so..

He's quite desperately upset that I wasn't immediately enthralled by it :\

I liked mirrormask a lot, though I did laugh out loud when there was the shot of people doing a palm isolation and then a contact 4-ball pyramid. Mainly because the thought going through my head at the time was "is it really not normal to hang around with people who sit doing that all the time?"

I've never seen Neverwhere either, although I'd like to. Apparently it's rather endearingly BBC. In fact I've only read it once, and that was years ago... I should remedy this :D

Am very much looking forward to showing you Firefly.

I have "Neverwhere" on R1 DVD, if you wish to borrow it at some point. Also one or two books by Spider Robinson that might appeal.
