Yes, I think that sums it up fairly well.

I didn't actually realise Pantera had split, but from the sound of the description of Damageplan's material I should really like them - it sounds like they were heading back to the days of Cowboys From Hell, which had tonnes of top quality tracks on it, good melodic stuff. I guess I'll have to go check them out now, with the disappointing thought in the back of my head that if I do like it - there's no more to come. Weird.

This happened here, I was shocked to find out about it on national news, considering I had no clue who Damage Plan is/was. I do know Pantera though, didn't hear they split up. At least the whole thing makes a little more sense now, I figured it was some stupid random doped-up fan doing someting ultra-stupid, it's somewhat reassuring to know it at least wasn't random. Does that make sense? More from a "it's still safe to go to shows in Columbus" stance. The news didn't say anything about Pantera.

But yeah, Bollocks.

THere is a letter going around that it was all a publicity stunt. But the letter might be a hoax. I'll look into it and post when I know more. Sick joke whatever.

Just to mention here, after having discussed it in your journal, everyone's pretty sure now that the original story is true and the hoax claim is a hoax.
