It may be blank, but the physical layout of the keys and the corresponding codes the keys generate when hit are fixed. If you look at the weighted layout (http://www.daskeyboard.com/images/keygrams.jpg) and look at at UK keyboard you'll notice there is one more key on the UK keyboard to the left of the Z that isn't on the Das Keyboard. That key is moved on US keyboards to the top right just to the left of the backspace key, which is made smaller to compensate. And I like UK keyboard sized backspace keys and the backslash and pipe to the left of the Z key thank you very much.
